The Team
DTU Management conducts high-level research and teaching with a focus on sustainability, transport, innovation and management science. The department is internationally recognised for the use of operations research within container optimization. The project falls well within the department strategy of strengthening maritime research and on speeding the knowledge about the use optimization within the Danish industrial sector.
The department of people and technology specializes in developing sustainable technology solutions. RUC has a strong history of working with smaller innovative entrepreneurs. The computer science section and the big data centre at RUC has experience with machine learning and other methods for retrieving information from Big data. This project will increase and extend the knowledge in the area of machine learning and big data.
The Embedded AI Research Lab at the department of computer systems is focusing on smart solutions that integrates sensory solutions and embedded computing. We have established strong cooperation with maritime sector and Estonian Maritime academy to develop innovative solutions for transport digitalization like smart port, automated cargo planning and loading. This project gives us possibility to use our competence in sensory and embedded computing to speed up the digitalization of maritime transportation.
Kockumation deliver their LOADMASTER loading computer to the entire DFDS RoRo fleet. They have also developed a stowage planning application DECKMASTER, which deck officers will use for planning cargo operations. DECKMASTER communicates with DFDS booking systems, and also the onboard loading computer. The aim of this project is to incorporate algorithms in the DECKMASTER application, so that it guides the cargo operations optimally.
Lorenz Technology (LT) develops intelligent drone software and specializes in taking control of off-the-shelf drones and mobile robots through a patentpending embedded platform. LT has successfully performed over 5,000 autonomous flights and can enable behavior-based route planning and edge computing to use AI for data processing. With great experience in performing realtime image processing and merging several data with drone telemetry, the project fits perfectly into the organization’s strategy of digitalizing harbors with cutting-edge technology.
Ange Analytics is a small Danish IT development and consultancy company based in Copenhagen. Our core compentencies are IT development and BI consulting, as well as our strong affinity for identifying opportunities for automation using Machine Learning as they occur. We have previously worked on EU-funded projects within the areas of IoT and process optimization and we hope to further develop our capabilities during this project.
